Couples on the dodgems ride, Battersea Park fun fair. Thousands spent their Easter bank holiday at the Battersea Park fun fair. This dodgems ride was one of many attractions that also included a water chute, a tree walk and the Big Dipper rollercoaster. The fair opened as part of the Festival of Britain in 1951. It closed in the early 1970s following a fatal accident on the Big Dipper.
